Mill Brook Trail

Rt. 17, 1 mile from Rt. 100 Waitsfield,VT 05673

This pretty trail takes you above Rt. 17 through a hemlock forest and a deer yard. It is wooded, and although not very long, rolls up and down moderately steep hills which makes it more vigorous than its length would suggest. In winter, there are views across to Bragg Hill. The path is narrow with a series of wooden footbridges. This is a much better snowshoe trail than cross-country ski trail because of the narrowness, steepness, and possibility of roots peeking out from the snow.

The Mill Brook Trail is one of the Mad River Path trails which are managed and maintained by the Mad River Path Association.

From Rt. 100, turn onto Rt. 17. Parking is available at Millbrook Inn & Restaurant, 1 mile up on the left; Tucker Hill Lodge, 2 miles up on the left.
