Stetson Hollow

This trail sustained significant damage during T.S. Irene. Forest Road 43 is impassable after a short walk up the hill. Most culverts are out and the east abutments on the first bridge are gone and the second bridge is completely impassable. This route should be considered non-navigable until further notice.

****************

A 4-mile round-trip flat hike that is a local well-kept secret. Equally good for hiking or snow-shoeing, you begin at Stetson Hollow (marked by a small sign) on the west side of Rt. 100 south of Warren Village. This is a scenic hike along the brook and is marked by small waterfalls and cascades. The path is wide enough for two! You'll know you've reached the end when the path peters out. Turn around and return the same way.

From Waitsfield, drive south on Rt. 100, past Warren Village to Stetson Hollow. Turn right onto Stetson Hollow and park past the private residences at the base of the road on the left in an old log landing.
