Innkeeping since 1979, Joan invites you to relax in a friendly, unhurried, atmosphere, of an 1850's inn. You enter the inn through the warming room where the Jotl Stove blazes a warm winter welcome. The quiet living rooms, one with a fireplace, are places to curl up in a rocking chair with a good book or enjoy a parlor game. Click the following link, seven guest rooms, for availability and on-line reservations. The 7 guest rooms all have private baths, are decorated with hand stenciling, antique bedsteads, handmade quilts, ceiling fans, and have air conditioning available. The Octagon House, a free-standing two-bedroom, two-bathroom fully furnished house is also available for rental. In summer, the large back yard is a wonderful place to stretch out in the hammock under the shade of the maple trees. The free wireless DSL goes throughout the inn, the back yard, and the Octagon House as well.

At Millbrook, your hearty breakfast offerings begin with juice, fruit, cereal, and yogurt; then guests order their choice of any combination (or all) of Joan's homemade pancakes, French toast made from homemade Anadama bread, eggs any style, bacon, ham, sausage, and delicious home fries. In the summer breakfast is served outdoors on the patio, which is surrounded by the spacious lawn and gardens.

Many ingredients such as vegetables in season, herbs, berries, and eggs come from local organic farms. And, of course, all of the dairy products come from Vermont cows.

Millbrook Inn is minutes from some of the best skiing in the east at Mad River Glen and Sugarbush and has a snow-shoe trail right out the door which links to the Catamount Trail. Cross-country skiing on marked trails through beautiful forest is practically at your doorstep. Groomed cross-country skiing is nearby. In summer and fall the snowshoe trail can be used for hiking or mountain biking.
