Is David Garten a wedding photographer who freelances as a photojournalist or a photojournalist who moonlights as a wedding photographer? To every wedding David brings over ten years experience shooting weddings as well as his photojournalist track record of publication in the New York Times, CBS TV 60 Minutes II, and on Grammy-nominated compact discs of Cuban music. Years of experience have taught him to observe unobtrusively, to move discreetly, and to record empathetically. He combines sensitivity and respect with a sense of joy and celebration. While flowing spontaneously in the moment, he is mindful of the place in a family's history of the images he is making. The result is a sensitive and nuanced visual record of the many facets of what makes each wedding unique. David is also a master printer with twenty years custom lab experience. All black & white processing, as well as all enlargements, both black & white and color, are made by David at his in-house custom lab.
