Dana Forest Trail

The Valley’s own “Enchanted Forest” beckons. So-called because of the hauntingly beautiful stand of pines about halfway along the trail, the Dana Forest Trail traverses a piece of Camel’s Hump State Forest and is enjoyable on both snowshoes and cross-country skis. Trailhead access is from Tucker Hill Road. Sign in and follow the blue blazes across a small bridge, through a “sugarbush” and up into the Enchanted Forest. The trail comes out at the top of Dana Hill Road where there are views of the Valley. Turn around and return by the same path. You can also leave one car at the bottom of Dana Hill Road and snowshoe or ski down the hill to it.

From Rt. 100, take Rt. 17 to Tucker Hill Road. Turn left onto Tucker Hill Road and drive nearly to the end (approx. 2 miles). You will see a small parking area on the left with a sign that says “Camel’s Hump State Forest.”
