Chamber Offering 2nd Round Grant Support for Local Events
(Waitsfield): Event organizers for events happening in 2013 seeking monetary sponsorship are invited to complete an application available through the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce. Events in January, May, June and November are of particular interest. Events that have already received a grant award in the last round for 2013 events are not eligible to apply. Applications are judged on 4 main criteria including:
- Ability to generate overnight visitors,
- Generating overall Valley business
- Ability to promote positive public relations value for the Valley
- Long term commitment and potential for the event
Applicants should be prepared to supply a business plan and budget for the event addressing financial, advertising, promotional items.
Funds for these grants are generated through the MRV-ME (Mad River Valley- Marketing Events) fund, by voluntary contribution made from several members. Those businesses will be voting on the merits of each application. Participation in the MRV-ME fund is voluntary and open to all chamber member businesses. One “share” in the fund equates to an amount equal to ones chamber membership dues, up to a maximum of $1500.
