Country Christmas Events

Country Christmas is how the Mad River Valley celebrates the holidays. The Mad River Valley Chamber works in collaboration with the business community to spread holiday cheer and to promote our local businesses throughout the holidays season. It’s certainly going to be different this year, but rest assured the MRV will do its darnedest to keep the holiday spirit alive.

With social distancing in mind our business community is coming together  to light up our community for the holidays, encourage buying local and spreading out the traffic by encouraging early shopping, embracing innovation and ensuring that visitors and locals are aware of all the happening occurring in every MRV  “neighborhood”.

From Thanksgiving through New Years, visitors and locals alike will notice experiences, activities and sales in every “neighborhood” in the Mad River Valley; Warren Village, Mad River Green, Village Square, Middlesex/Camp Meade and the mountains. Here’s a sampling of what you can expect;

Country Christmas Events

November 12 – December 20 – Mountain Rose Artisan’s Boutique– Makers Market nn the 4 Saturdays and the Sunday prior to Christmas. Each week 2 local makers will pop up in the studio in a socially distanced way. Since the holiday fairs are cancelled this year Mountain Rose is doing this to  support local makers.

November 20 – Big Kicker:Sugarbush and Mad River Glen invite you to the kickoff the 2020-2021 season. Celebrate community, camaraderie and snow with the PARK ZONE, Lawsons Finest tastings, yummy eats and more.
November 21 – Sugarbush’s Opening Day
December 12 – Mad River Glen Opening Day
December 18 – Sugarbush’s Mt. Ellen Opens for the Season

Salt & Sand Studios – Make a Glass Ornament – For All Ages
Bridge Street Luminaries – The historic village will be lit up with luminaries and highlighted with a visit by Santa.
Mad River Green Holiday Extravaganza – The Mad River Green Shops and Village Square Shopping Center come to life to celebrate the holidays
Warren Village Holiday Experience – The quaint village of Warren come alive for the holiday season.
Island of Misfit Toys – The Fiddler’s Green neighborhood is coming together for a fun drive-through toy drive
Mad River Chorale Holiday Concert – This annual rite of the season will be held on-line this year!
Moretown Artisans Sale – It won’t be happening in-person this year but an online version is in the works.
