CPR Classes for MRV

The Mad River Valley chamber of Commerce is collaborating with the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service (MRVAS) to offer MRV Chamber member businesses the Heartsaver CPR AED program. Classes will be offered on the following days this fall:

• Wednesday, October 18 – CLASS FULL
• Thursday, October 19, afternoon In person instruction and practice 1-5 pm
• Wednesday, November 15, afternoon   In person instruction and practice 1-5pm
• Monday Nov 6,  Evening   In person instruction and practice 6-10pm

Each class is 4 hours in duration and cost $30.
Participants who pass the class will receive a American Heart Association CPR card.
The class covers the following content:

• Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
• Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
• Recognize when someone needs CPR
• Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
• Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
• Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
• Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
• Perform high-quality CPR for a child*
• Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*
• Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*
• Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
• Demonstrate how to help a choking infant
