Fayston Conservation Commission
February 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Fayston Conservation Commission is a group of volunteers focused on advancing natural resources conservation across the Town. We are currently looking to fill two positions. Each volunteer can expect to spend ~2 hours per week, or more/less as available and needed. The FCC’s mission includes:
Acting as a resource for the people of Fayston, the Planning Commission, the Development Review Board, and the Select Board for researching issues concerning the natural resources of Fayston and making recommendations to them;
Assisting the Town with managing Fayston’s natural resources in accordance with the Town Plan and helping support town planning related to natural resources;
Helping educate the public by preparing, collecting, and publishing information on the natural resources of Fayston;
Working to coordinate and actively steward our two Town Forests: Chase Brook and Boyce Hill;
Promoting recreational use of Fayston’s natural resources; and
Providing support for the Town as it seeks and accepts land grants and trails easements.
The FCC fulfills its mission by considering opportunities and threats, organizing projects to address them, conducting management planning, and carrying out the plans for town-owned lands.
If your interests are predominantly in hands-on activities (such as trail maintenance, invasive species removal, site stewardship), please consider volunteering for our soon-to-form Stewardship Crew instead. You do not need to be a member of FCC to join our Stewardship Crew.
