October 12, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Free
InoraBrass, named for the Goddess of Mountain Snow, celebrates the parallel between the majesty of brass music and the natural beauty of Vermont and Northern New York. InoraBrass is one of Vermont’s premier professional brass ensembles, comprising Grammy Award winning musicians who have played with the Nashville Symphony, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Phish, the Vermont Symphony, Itzhak Perlman, James Taylor, Gustavo Dudamel, on Broadway and at Carnegie Hall. Members currently perform and teach extensively throughout New England and Northern New York and include Harwood band director Chris Rivers, Harwood trumpet teacher Jason Whitcomb, and Joslin Memorial Library librarian Joy Worland.
The concert will include music of Bach, Gabrieli, and Joplin as well as contemporary brass pieces by Kamen, Ferber, and Ferro. The second half of the program will be dedicated to all Veterans and active duty military personnel in a special tribute to the Armed Forces.
This concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Joslin Library.
