Meditation: A Guided Practice
July 6, 2019 @ 7:30 am - 8:15 am
An event every week that begins at 7:30 am on Friday, repeating until January 3, 2020

Explore the possibilities of mindfulness
through “the sitting” practice.
The Sitting Still Like a Frog books have done wonders for children (and their parents) by offering simple mindfulness practices and activities to help ages 5-12 deal with anxiety, improve concentration, and handle difficult emotions. This guided morning meditation practice offers something similar for adults, though not in book form. Explore the building blocks of a meditation practice including how to sit/situate and adjust your body for maximum benefit, the power of the breath, the joy of a single point of focus, and several beneficial practice approaches such as loving kindness (metta), tong len and yoga nidra (yoga sleep).
Learn, connect and discover what can be applied in your everyday to create joy and compassion.
45 minutes.
No experience necessary and helpful to experienced practitioners too. So whether you simply want to try out meditation, or expand or deepen your practice, join us.
Donations of $5 and up are welcome.
