Sliding Scale

The MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) course is being offered at the Mad River Yoga and Wellness studio above Bisbee’s in Waitsfield on Thursday evenings from 6-8:30 PM starting September 8th and running through October 27th. There is also a full day retreat that is included in the course that will be held October 16th.

MBSR is a secular meditational course developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  After years of research based proven effectiveness, it is the “Go-To” meditation teaching technique being taught all over the world to help people deal with and help heal a wide range of physical and mental health challenges including chronic pain, asthma and high blood pressure as well as fatigue, sleep disorders, anxiety, grief and depression to name a few.

The course is designed for anyone who is interested in learning skills and practices intended to increase one’s capacity for ease of being, peace of mind and equanimity through the practice of mindfulness. Perfect for beginners, this course may also bring fresh perspectives and levels of awareness to already established mindfulness practitioners who are interested in learning new meditational practices. The MBSR course is an empirically supported, educational and experiential training taught in a group format.

This course is offered on a donation or sliding scale basis.
