WE DID IT! COME CELEBRATE OUR SCRAG TOWN FOREST!

Liza Walker of the Vermont Land Trust, Phil Huffman of the Waitsfield Conservation Commission, and Cindy Carr are hosting a celebration for the Scrag Town Forest Gateway Project on Sunday, October 15th, from 1-4 pm. The event will be held in the Scrag Town Forest at the end of Bowen Road (off Sherman Rd in Waitsfield) and will include refreshments, brief remarks and an opportunity to explore our 750 acre town forest on some optional hikes.

This summer, with generous help from the community, federal and state grants, the Town of Waitsfield was able to purchase 110 vital acres of forestland adjoining the existing Scrag Town Forest. This gateway parcel will improve public access to the town land and expand one of the Valley’s greatest natural and recreational treasures. Come learn about this exciting town asset!
