Yoga for Anxiety and Depression

This a practice for our times! Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million (about one out of every five) adults, and depression is the leading cause of disability, affecting about 8% of us. The Good News? Yoga can help! This workshop includes a short lecture on the physiology of these conditions and the yogic approach to them, followed by a powerful therapeutic hatha practice for managing these conditions. Saumya Lauren Toolin is a leading teacher of ParaYoga and was one of the first to be certified as a senior teacher by ParaYoga’s founder, Rod Stryker. She has closely apprenticed with Rod since 2004. She also apprenticed with Rodney Yee for many years and has studied extensively in the Iyengar tradition. she holds the highest designation as an experienced teacher through Yoga Alliance and is an International Association of Yoga Therapists Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).
