Our B&B is surrounded by beautiful gardens in the summer. The 3rd fairway of the Robert Trent Jones Sr. Sugarbush golf course is right across the lane and the club house is just down the road. The Long Trail is right behind us, and kayaking and other water activities are just minutes away in the Mad River.Casual hikers will enjoy the short hike south on the Long Trail from Lincoln Gap to Sunset Ledge while serious hikers will appreciate the views from the top of Mount Abraham, third highest peak in the state. That’s a half-day hike north on the Long Trail from Lincoln Gap 
You can either come back the way you came, or keep going to Lincoln Peak and come down the ski trail to the Sugarbush base. And as you will see from our Summer Activities there is lots more to see and do…

The fall here is gorgeous as we are surrounded by mature maple trees. A walk out the front door leads to quiet roads and open vistas looking out on thousands of colorful trees. After the foliage experience is over by late October you can have fun with us raking up the leaves with our Leak Raving Special (read the details to understand the name!) while receiving a big discount on your stay.
For winter activities we are just one mile (1.6km) from Sugarbush Lincoln Peak, and there is a door-to-door shuttle bus service during the ski season so you do not even need to clear off your car in the morning! Mad River Glen and cross country skiing just a short drive away. Rocket Sleds were invented here in the Mad River Valley, so be sure to try one out when you stay with us in the winter months. In the morning the sumptuous three-course breakfast starts with fruit juice, home made sweet breads or muffins and a specially prepared fruit dish. A tantalizing hot entrée will then give your taste buds an early morning treat. The menu of the day might include Sweet Pepper Scrambled Eggs, Breakfast Casserole, Ginger Pancakes with Lemon Sauce, Pain Perdu (French Toast) with local Mad River Valley Maple Syrup, Asparagus filled Crêpes or Granny’s Cheesey Soufflé. West Hill House B&B is also a perfect venue for small weddings for up to 50 people, as well as elopements for a quiet ceremony for just the two of you. It is also a great choice for your wedding guests to stay to enjoy quiet and comfortable surroundings, if your ceremony and reception are being held elsewhere in the valley. With its Handsome Red Barn, three large common rooms and dining room, it is also an ideal location for small business retreats.
