Runner’s World has published the top 10 Bucket List Marathons to run in 2018, and the Mad Marathon made the list, putting the Mad River Valley of Vermont on the same stage as Paris, Hawaii, and the Great Wall of China.
“As a small rural marathon in a quaint Vermont valley, I am thrilled to be included on a list of extraordinary races that are large and famous,” says Mad Marathon director, Dori Ingalls, “We are ahead of Rome! Astounding.”
The Mad Marathon, which will run its 8th annual event this year (on July 8, 2018), has earned the reputation of being one of the toughest but most peaceful marathons, with a fun crowd. This is due to the natural landscape, but also to the careful planning and promotion by the Mad Marathon team, and its collaboration with the local community.
