MRV Non-Profits Seek Event Support
The MRV business community has long known that events are critical to our community’s economic vitality. Events come in all shapes, sizes and styles and are all worthy of our collective support. In this email update, you will find opportunities to get involved in two very different types of events happening at different times of the year that are both going into their 13th year.
The Mad Marathon is in the process of transitioning to a non-profit management model in an effort to solidify its economic foundation. The Mad Marathon, Mad Half and the 5K and 10K races attract nearly 1,000 participants, families and supporters who spend well over $1.5 million collectively. They are seeking donations and sponsors for the event slated for early July.
The High Fives Foundation focuses on preventing life-changing injuries and provides resources and hope if they happen. Their flagship fundraising event, The Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon will be happening on march 3rd. The event offers participants an opportunity to raise funds individually or as teams to support the mission of High Fives.
Both of these events raise critical funds for important missions. They also attract visitors to the MRV that create commerce that translates into economic activity. They also create a sense of vitality that helps to weave together the unique fabric of our community. These events and others throughout the year deserve the support of our business community. I invite you to learn more below and to get involved in any way that you can.
Thanks to High Fives and the Mad Marathoin for everything you do to enhance our community!
