Small Business Saturday 11/26/11
What: There is Black Friday (Friday after Thanksgiving), and Cyber Monday (Monday after Thanksgiving), now there is Small Business Saturday (Saturday after Thanksgiving) sponsored by American Express. The purpose is to support small, locally owned businesses found in our communities.
For Consumers: American Express card holders can register online for a $25 statement credit if their card is used to purchase items at a small business on that day. Cardholders should check back with Amex in November to register their card. Find more at www.Facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday.
For Retailers: Utilize the free promotional materials offered on the Facebook page www.Facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday , or contact the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce for samples. It is suggested you place reference to the event in your own advertising, Facebook posts and emails leading up to 11/26 indicating your business’ participation (if you take AmEx).
