Dog Sledding & Skijoring

Dog sled rides are a wonderful way to enjoy a winter’s day. Sail effortlessly over snow and ice as highly trained dogs enjoy their work. You can ride a sled, or try your hand at skijoring, a winter sport where a person on skis is pulled by a dog (or dogs). It is derived from the Norwegian word skikjøring meaning “ski driving”. Some tours are based in the Mad River Valley, some at nearby Waterbury reservoir. Advance planning is recommended. There are other opportunities for participating in non winter months, when the weather is comfortably cool, using wheeled sleds.  Consider a ‘meet & greet’ session with dogs if you prefer!
