Welcome Center Volunteers
Do you want to share your knowledge of the MRV? The Mad River Valley has a new Welcome Center in Waitsfield, located on the corner of Route 17 and Route 100 that offers a tremendous volunteer opportunity. This an exciting time as we work to create this new space for our community. Throughout the year visitors and locals alike will be coming in to get information about our community. The new space which is part of the Recreation Hub project enabled by theVOREC Grant program that is taking shape and your input and involvement are greatly needed.
It’s a gratifying and fun way to get out in the community, interact with visitors and share what makes the MRV the special place that it is. The best part is that you can commit to as little as two hours a week and it’s really cool place to hang out. Some of our volunteers use it as a way to get out and do their regular work remotely. Most visitors are looking for; things to do, recommendations for food, trails to hike or bike, scenic drives to take, places to swim, places to view foliage, maps and brochures and, of course, a place to relieve themselves.
This is important work and it feels good to help folks discover and enjoy our community. If you’d like to consider getting involved please reach out.
