Waitsfield Country Roads Loop

Moderate, 5 mile loop, elevation gain 500’ (paved and dirt roads)

This walk offers beautiful views of the Green Mountains across the valley. Along Common Rd, notice the Skinner Barn, a beautifully restored historic dairy barn originally built in 1891 by the Daniel Skinner family. Of classic post and beam construction, it has now found a new life, offering a special environment for educational classes, cultural events, parties, and receptions.

The Route: Start in Waitsfield Village, parking near the Great Eddy Covered Bridge on Bridge St off of Route 100. Go through the bridge then take a left onto Joslin Hill Rd, then right on Brook Rd. From Brook Rd, take a left on Common Rd, then another left onto Joslin Hill Road back to the covered bridg.
